Hearing and speech impaired athletes have finally got visas to participate in the 'Asia-Pacific Deaf Games'that will be held from October 3 to 11 in Taoyuan, Chinese Taipei.
Speech and hearing impaired athletes from India were due to participate in the Asia-Pacific Deaf Games. They were earlier facing difficulty in getting their visas and reportedly were kept in decrepit conditions before their plight was highlighted enough for the local authorities to act.
With athletes from all over the continent set to participate. The country is hosting the games for the second time, having last played host in 2000.
