Patna (central range) Deputy Inspector-General (DIG) Rajesh Kumar on Tuesday defended the policemen who were caught sleeping during a law and order briefing in Bihar.
While speaking to ANI, DIG Kumar said that the policemen came to attend the briefing after the night shift and, therefore, they might have dozed off for few minutes.
"Policemen who were sleeping had come after night duty and had not slept for 24 hours straight. They are not at fault. They were attentive but might have dozed off for two to three minutes. They are humans after all," he said.
Earlier on Monday, in a video, a few police officers were spotted sleeping at the time of the briefing in the wake of the Durga Puja.
