Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh on Thursday challenged Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to submit the Vyapam scam case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
"We were hopeful that he will not resign and he has the full right to investigate. We have requested him that if he has the least of courage and slightest of shame then he should submit the case to CBI. He can also claim to file a defamation suit against me. He should do something," Digvijay Singh told ANI here.
The Congress leader had earlier alleged that Chouhan's name was replaced in the excel sheet submitted by the Special Task Force in the court, apparently to shield him in this case.
Earlier on Tuesday, Chouhan had said that the allegations levelled by the Congress against him and his family members in connection with the Vyapam scam were 'baseless and made out of frustration'.
"Congress is indulging in completely baseless and false allegations out of frustration. For them, I am like a thorn in their eyes," he said.
Vyapam scam was a massive admission and recruitment scam involving politicians, senior officials and businessmen.
