Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Sunday attempted to downplay the ongoing political storm over businessman Robert Vadra angrily pushing away the mic of a reporter when asked about his land deals in Haryana, and asked as to why the media was making an issue over such a small incident.

The Congress general secretary alleged that the reporter had breached the 'agreement' of asking questions only about the gym facilities in Hotel Ashok.

"I don't know why media is making such an issue related to such a small incident. I'm told that the agreement was that questions will only be asked about gym facilities in Ashoka (Hotel)," Singh told media persons here.

"When there was an agreement between Mr Vadra and that the person who was interviewing, what was the reason to breach that agreement," he added.

However, when asked why Vadra was seen asking the reporter to delete the video, the Congress general secretary replied that he hadn't seen that.

"I don't understand the kind of media attention Mr Vadra is getting on a non-event. Are you really short of news these days?" he added.

Meanwhile, Congress spokesperson Sandeep Dikshit said the matter was between Vadra and the media. He, however, added that the people should try and behave as civil a manner as possible.

"We all live in a society and should try and behave as civil as we can with each other. The press also sometimes go beyond and oversteps its limit, but we should be civil with each other," said Dikshit.

Earlier on Saturday, Vadra lost his temper and pushed an ANI reporter's mic away, when asked a question about his land deals in Haryana.

"Are you serious? Are you serious? Are you nuts? What is wrong with you," Vadra kept asking .

Vadra and his security guards also threatened the reporter and asked him to turn off his camera and delete the interaction at an event held at the Ashoka Hotel. The media was formally invited to cover the event.
