Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh today claimed that the so called Modi-wave is on the wane, as has become evident in the bypoll results in four states.

Speaking at a press conference, Singh said ,"I would like to thank the electorates .... where the byelections were held, because there has been a substantial jump in the voting for the Congress party in these by elections. The so called Modi wave is all pervaise throughout the country stands exposed where BJP has not gained in any of the by-polls. Infact, it has lost seats which it held earlier. I would like to thank all the Congress workers tirelessly to make this possible. I would like to congratulate the chief minister and the PCC president and their whole team."

"The challenge before us now is to see election promises that we have made in the last assembly elections where the people voted for the Congress party, we deliver them as effectively as possible," Singh added.

The Congress has won two out of three seats in Karnataka. The Congress has won in Bellary and the Chikkodi-Sadalga seat, while the BJP bagged the Shikaripur seat.
