Dinesh D'Souza's documentary 'America' presented the reenactments of the Abraham Lincoln career and the Civil War that defined his term along with America's history since.

The 53-year-old filmaker along with co-director John Sullivan tried Hillary Clinton to appear in the documentary but she turned them down, however they did managed to get Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul, Deadline.com reported.

D'Souza said that for him the 16th President of the United States embodied that philosophical statesmanship and practical wisdom that represented the highest achievement of a leader.

Since its initial release in Atlanta and Houston on June 28, America went wide on July 2 and jumped to 1105 screens.

It received an impressive A+ CinemaScore result and it has done a brisk business in Southern California, the Inland Empire, Florida, Arizona and Texas.
