Dwayne Johnson has recently weighed in on Hulk Hogan's racism scandal saying that he was disheartened with what he heard.

Giving his opinion via satellite at a Television Critics Association panel, the 43-year-old actor said that he was disappointed by the actions of the former WWE Hall-of-Famer, reported People magazine.

However, the 'Ballers' star went on to say that in all the time he'd known the 61-year-old wrestler, he hadn't known him to be a racist.

Johnson added that he is not justifying what the wrestler said but everyone talks trash, especially in private and Hogan has paid the price for what he did.

The controversy started when an audio transcript featuring Hogan was released wherein he was seen making racial slurs. Though the wrestler apologised for his comments later, he was removed from the WWE Hall of Fame and had to leave the organisation as a result of his comments.
