Disney has banned any sort of depiction of smoking in films that are targeted towards children.

CEO Bob Iger announced his new policy at annual shareholder meeting in response to an investor question, saying that he will "absolutely prohibit" it in films with PG-13 rating or below, unless it involved an historical figure who smoked, Deadline.com reported.

He claimed that the decision was made over the last 48 hours as he thought it was the right thing to do.

Iger added that they didn't get involved in how MPAA applies ratings to films, nor did they ever influence the policies of the other competing studios.
