Divyang students to get free admission in govt. institutes in Assam

The newly formed Assam Government on Sunday announced free admission for Divyang students in government institutes.

State Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the initiative will implement from this year.

He said that this initiative will benefit students from ninth standard to university level, adding that no income certificate of parents will be required to get admission.

Earlier, the Education Department announced free education up to undergraduate level for all students from poor and lower middle class families whose family income does not exceed Rs. one lakh per annum.

He said, as per BJP's poll promises, the state government is taking step to give regular appointment to 38,000 TET (Teachers Eligibility Test) qualified teachers in Lower Primary schools.

 

The minister said in this direction, over seven thousands teachers will get appointment in regular post on 27th of this month.
