Defending champion Novak Djokovic has set up a semi-final meeting at the Monte Carlo Masters with Swiss ace Roger Federer after defeating Spaniard Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in the quarter-finals on Friday.

The second-seeded Serb held his nerve in the game by saving two key break points in the seventh game of the second set to turn the tide against the winner of the Casablanca clay court title 4-6, 6-3, 6-1.

According to Sport24, Djokovic will face off in a Saturday semi-final against 17-time Major winning Federer, who beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 2-6, 7-6 (8/6), 6-1.

Meanwhile, world No.1 Rafael Nadal, who won the Monte Carlo Masters eight times before, was sent out of the tournament after falling to his compatriot David Ferrer 7-6 (7/1), 6-4, the report added.
