Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader TKS Elangovan said Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and supremo of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) Jayalalithaa was making mockery of democracy, after the latter sacked four district secretaries in charge of three constituencies in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
Spokesperson of DMK, Elangovan said that such actions display total failure of governance in the province.
"There is a total failure of governance in the state. They change ministers, they drop ministers, include ministers. They will drop ministers early and they'll include the same ministers once again. These are all funny. This is all mockery of democracy. That is what happening in the state," said Elangovan.
The district secretaries shunted out were of Dharmapuri from where Paattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) leader Anbumani Ramadoss won. Second in the row was BJP's Pon Radhakrishnan from Kanyakumari while the third one was from Puducherry Union Territory where the AIADMK came third, and also Thiruvallur, where a spectacular win failed to save west district secretary BV Ramana.
John Thangam, the expelled district secretary of Kanyakumari West, was also the party candidate and lost badly, coming a distant third after the BJP and the Congress.
This is the fourteenth time that Jayalalithaa has re-shuffled her cabinet. And the sacking of four ministers has come as a pleasant surprise for three others who were given marching orders in the past to be re-inducted.
Those who are making a comeback are Agri S S Krishnamoorthy, S P Velumani and S Gokula Indira. While Indira gets Handlooms and Textiles, Velumani is the new Municipal Administration Minister and Krishnamoorthy the new Agriculture Minister.

Meanwhile, hitting at Jayalalithaa over misgovernance, Elangovan said that the AIADMK government had done minimal developmental work in the state.
"There is total failure of governance in the state. But unfortunately, people could not read this. This government has not done any good thing to the state. They have not brought any good infrastructure; they have not created any employment. They have not provided water both to the farmers and drinking water. They have not given electricity," Elangovan said.
AIADMK recorded a sweeping win in the general elections.
The party swept 37 seats of the Lok Sabha constituencies out of the 39 constituencies in Tamil Nadu and has emerged as the third largest party in the parliament after the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress.
