The DNA tests of a child held by Lebanese authorities have confirmed that she is the daughter of the Islamic State (IS) chief Abu Bakr-al Baghdadi, said the country's interior minister.

Lebanese Interior Minister Nohad Machnouk also confirmed that the child's mother who is also under custody was Baghdadi's wife for a period of three months and was married to him six years ago.

According to Fox News, however, they are no longer married, said the interior minister.

Machnouk said that Iraq sent the DNA samples of the IS' chief to Lebanese authorities to test against the woman identified as Saja al-Dulaimi, and the girl.
