A doctor has claimed that because of 'Fifty Shades of Grey' elderly people are encouraged to have unsafe sex and catch diseases like chlamydia, syphilis and gonorrhea.

Dr. Charlotte Jones, the head of the British Medical Association's General Practitioners Committee said that it was always believed that forgetting about safe sex would be the vulnerability of young people but because of the book, people over 50 tend to be more explorative and avoid condoms, New York Daily News reported.

In 2012, the CDC reported that STI rates among 45- to 65-year-olds almost tripled over the decade in the U.S., and in England, the rate rose to 7 percent in people over 65 of age from 2011 to 2012.
