A 'lesbian kiss' scene from 'Doctor Who', which was featured in the first episode of series 8, Deep Breath, was not broadcasted in Asia.

A source said that the scene, where the lizard woman Madame Vastra gave mouth to mouth her wife Jenny, was not considered appropriate as per a broadcasting code in Singapore, Metro.co.uk reported.

According to the code, programmes should avoid content that justified homosexual and lesbian lifestyles.

BBC Worldwide's global editorial editor said that they occasionally had to edit shows for international transmission to avoid breaking any local broadcasting rules.
