Donald Trump, who is once again under fire for his new promo picture featuring Nazi soldiers, has washed off his hands from the issue by blaming an intern for it.

The 69-year-old presidential candidate posted an image on twitter on July 14 that contained a photo of Trump, 100 dollars bills and Nazi army men fighting in World War II, reported E! Online.

He captioned the picture, "We need real leadership. We need results. Let's put the U.S. back into business!"

However, the tweet was immediately deleted when a number of twitter users pointed out that Trump had mistaken the Waffen SS troops for U.S. soldiers.

Later, a statement was released on Trump's behalf that read that a young intern created and posted the image and did not see the very faded figures within the flag of the stock photo.

It further read that the intern apologised and immediately deleted the tweet.
