United States President Donald Trump, all set to commence his five-nation Asia tour on Friday, has confirmed a state visit to China at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Trump will meet Jinping during his visit to the Asian country from November 8-10. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang announced the visit on Thursday.
"The two heads of state will exchange in-depth views on China-US relations and major global and regional issues of common concern, Lu Kang was quoted by a Chinese Daily.
Lu further asserted that China stands ready to work with the US to achieve important results from Xi-Trump meeting, in order to inject new and strong impetus to the development of bilateral ties.
From Nov 5 to Nov 14, Trump will visit Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam and Philippines in his first visit to Asia since taking office.
