The Election Commission (ECI on Friday issued a notice against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal for violating the Model Code of Conduct by making false allegations against Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay.

This step by the Commission came on the heels of yet another notice served to the AAP chief over his controversial 'bribe' remark, after Congress leader KC Mittal filed a complaint to the Election Commission for the same.

Kejriwal, while addressing a rally in the national capital last Sunday, had suggested that the people of Delhi accept bribes from other political parties, but cast their votes for him.

Earlier on Monday, the Election Commission had sent a notice to Kejriwal for the same and had asked for an explanation by Thursday.

The former Delhi chief minister had also levelled graft allegations against Upadhyay, and had accused the BJP of attempting to incite communal violence in Delhi.
