Opening batsman Adam Lyth has revealed that his aim is to make a strong comeback to the England national side after being dropped for the upcoming Test series against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates.

The 28-year-old left-hander struggled to find his batting flair during England's 3-2 Ashes win over Australia. He scored a miserable 115 runs in nine innings.

Lyth insisted that he was still good enough to come back and do well at international cricket, Sport24 reported.

The Yorkshire batsman also expressed his disappointment at being dropped but insisted that he hopes to learn from his mistakes and come back stronger next season.

England will face Pakistan in the first of three Tests on 13 October in Abu Dhabi.
