'Drunk' MLA son hit PCR van after ramming into auto rickshaw: Police

The Rajasthan Police on Monday said Siddharth, the son of independent Rajasthan MLA Nand Kishor Maharia was under the influence of alcohol when he rammed into an auto rickshaw resulting in three casualties.

Inspector Kamal Nayan told ANI that the BMW car allegedly belonging to independent MLA hit a PCR vehicle after ramming into the three-wheeler.

"When auto-rickshaw came near St. Xavier area, at the same time a BMW came from the other side and rammed into the auto rickshaw.. it was in high speed, which resulted in three casualties and one person was injured," he said.

"The BMW didn't stop there. it also hit a police PCR van, which was standing 50 metres away in which policemen were sitting and the ASI was injured," he added.

 

When asked if Siddharth was driving the car, Nayan said the MLAs son was driving the car.

The inspector further said they felt the MLA's sonwas under the influence of alcohol when accident took place.

"However, we will be sending his sample to the Forensic Science Laboratory," he added.
