Several Brits are unaware about the true significance of Christmas Day, a study has revealed.

According to the study, 16 percent of Brits admitted that they didn't know that December 25 marks the birth of Jesus, and several others revealed that they thought he had been born on Christmas Eve, the Daily Star reported.

Some even wrongly claimed that Christ was born on Good Friday, the day he was crucified, while others had no idea Jesus died wearing a crown of thorns, instead said that he had donned sunglasses, a hat or even the crown jewels.

The survey of 2,000 people, to mark the release of epic series 'The Bible' on DVD and Blu-Ray, also revealed that many people had no idea who Adam and Eve were, or who built the Ark, exposing the level of godlessness among Brits.
