Front trolley of Ernakulam Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Duronto Express' (Train number 12224) was derailed near Maharashta's Ratnagiri on Thursday.
No casualties or injuries have been reported in the incident so far.
The incident took place at 3:03 p.m.
Accident Relief Medical Van (ARMV) and Accident Relief Trains (ARTs) have departed from Ratnagiri and Verna respectively and will reach the site shortly for relief and restoration.
Konkan Railway officials have also rushed to the site.
