Dutch football coach Raymond Verheijen has said that Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal wants 200 million-pounds in order to rebuild Manchester United and has also backed him to be the perfect man to turn the club into champions again.

Verheijen, who worked with compatriot Van Gaal in the Holland youth set-up, has reportedly been a long-term critic of United's decision to replace Sir Alex Fergson with David Moyes.

According to the Mirror, after Moyes' sacking as manager Verheijen has backed Van Gaal to be the perfect man for the post and said that the Dutchman is extremely keen to take a job in the Premier League.

Verheijen said that Van Gaal is a team builder from scratch and like a teacher, adding that the fact that there could be as much as 200 million-pounds to spend on new players is a huge attraction.

However, Verheijen added that if most of that money had been spent already in the last year then Van Gaal would have been less interested to take the job as he would then have to deal with players who he might have not bought himself.
