A film based on Marguerite Bennett's dystopian comic series 'Animosity' will be developed by Legendary Entertainment.

The survival story is about an 11-year-old girl, Jesse, who struggles to survive when the world is plunged into chaos.

The comic is written by Marguerite Bennett and illustrated by Rafael de Latorre.

The story will be set in a world plunged into chaos as newly intelligent animals gain the power of speech and fight humanity. In the midst of the turmoil, the girl begins a cross-country journey to find her half-brother, Adam, who lives in San Francisco, confirmed Variety.

AfterShock Comics published 'Animosity 1 in 2016, followed by the three volumes of 'Animosity: The Rise' and 'Animosity: Evolution' in 2017.

Legendary Entertainment has acquired the worldwide rights to the film. AfterShock Media president will be producing the movie.
