After passing the of the E-rickshaw Bill, Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Sunday said that finally justice has been done to the poor.
"Today the poor people have been served justice. This is good start humanity wise," Gadkari told the media here.
"I want that the driver should be the owner and the drivers should not be exploited," he added.
Gadkari further asserted that this was a dream come true for Ram Manohar Lohia and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya and added that he felt fortunate to fulfill it.
Last month, the Rajya Sabha had passed the Motor Vehicle (Amendment) Bill, which will pave the way for plying of e-rickshaws on the roads of Delhi.
The Bill was cleared by the Lok Sabha on March 3.
