Earthquake of 6.2 magnitude hits Vanuatu

An earthquake of 6.2 magnitude on the Richter Scale hit the South Pacific island of Vanuatu on Tuesday, said the USGS.

However, there were no immediate reports of any loss to life and property.

Vanuatu, a Pacific island nation located in the South Pacific Ocean, is part of the 'Ring of Fire', a zone of tectonic activity that is subject to frequent earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
