A report has revealed that three Ebola-infected doctors who were given doses of the experimental drug last Thursday have shown remarkable signs of improvement.

The drug, ZMapp was earlier given to two United States (U.S.) Aid workers infected with the disease who were flown home for treatment.

The disease although does not have a cure as yet but the World Health Organization (WHO) has approved the use of untested drugs considering the magnitude of outbreak in West Africa, reported the BBC.

The disease has claimed the lives of 1,229 people since the beginning of the year.

Ebola is transmitted by direct contact with the body fluids of an infected person. The epidemic began in Guinea and spread to Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria.
