The Ebola outbreak in West Africa will be brought under control in at least six months, says medical charity Medicins Sans Frontiers (MSF).

According to the BBC, the MSF president said in Geneva that the situation was worsening at a quick pace.

The World Health Organization had earlier said that the scale of Ebola outbreak appeared to be underestimated and that important measures needed to be taken.

The WHO also said that the risk of transmission of the disease during air travel remained low.

The death toll rose to 1,145 while 2,127 cases have been reported.

The outbreak of Ebola began in Guinea and has spread to Nigeria, Seirra Leona and Liberia.
