The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has reportedly confirmed that Andy Flower will continue on his job as the head coach of the national cricket team.

England is currently battling to avoid a 5-0 Ashes series whitewash against Australia by either winning or drawing the New Year's Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

According to the Mirror, ECB chief executive David Collier has confirmed that the former Zimbabwean international cricketer will remain in charge of the Test side.

Flower, who took charge of England in April 2009, had said after the fourth Test defeat in Melbourne that he still has confident in his ability to lead England in the right direction, although he admitted that some things have to change, as it is the end of a new era for the team and the start of a fresh cycle.
