Egypt has vowed to continue an offensive in the restive Sinai Peninsula, a day after Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) killed more than 100 people in a series of simultaneous attacks in the region.

Egypt's army said that operations will not stop until the area was cleared of all 'terrorist concentrations', reported the BBC.

Yesterday's attacks targeted military checkpoints in Sheikh Zuweid and Rafah.

It was one of the largest ever coordinated offensives in the area by ISIS' local affiliate, Sinai Province.

The restive peninsula has been under a state of emergency and a curfew since October, when dozens of soldiers were killed in a militant attack.
