It turns out that Elle Fanning, who's playing Princess Aurora in Disney's 'Maleficent', is not only a real-life princess but is also a cousin of Kate Middleton.
According to the historians from Ancestry.com, the 16-year-old actress is the 22nd great-granddaughter of King Edward III, who reigned England from 1330 to 1376, People Magazine reported.
The researchers looked through about 700 years' of historical documents and Michelle Ercanbrack from the website, told the magazine that the generation lines point the 'Phoebe in Wonderland' star and her sister, Dakota, 20, to be the royal descendants through their mother, Heather Joy Arrington.
It was also found that Fanning is the 21st cousin of the Duchess of Cambridge, as the royal's mother Carole Goldsmith is also a granddaughter of King Edward III.
