Ellen Page will be filling the shoes of Lance Corporal Leslie Martz, who forged friendships with the wives of Taliban fighters, in the upcoming flick 'Lioness.'
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Martz, a US marine, was appointed leader of a Female Engagement Team in Afghanistan, which aimed to foster greater independence for local women and to gather information about their rebel husbands.
The indie film will focus on how she felt conflict due to her loyalty towards her targets, all the while hiding her sexuality from her superiors.
James Dahl will produce the project along with Rosalind Ross, who also wrote the screenplay. The director is yet to be signed.
