Pakistan cricket board chief Shaharyar Khan has dismissed suggestions that he is resigning from his position following the national team's disastrous World Twenty20 campaign.

Shaharyar said in a hurriedly convened media briefing that there was no truth in the rumours that he was considering stepping down, the Dawn reported.

The Shahid Afridi-led side were crashed out of the T20 format's pinnacle event after losing their three successive matches against India, New Zealand and Australia.

The PCB chairman, who is in his second term, added that he would be able comment on the team's performance after studying the inquiry report on the team's disappointing outing in the Asia Cup T20 and World T20.
