Russian President Vladimir Putin has claimed that no country should be under "the illusion that they can gain military superiority over Russia".

According to the Washington Times, Putin said that the country would always answer back in any such cases where nations try to gain military superiority.

Putin believes that Russian soldiers and officers are ready to act in defence and perform difficult tasks that would mark their military duty.

Putin's remarks come two days after the UK released pictures of Russian SA-22 surface-to-air missile systems in Ukraine.
