Emma Watson recently backed the actress, who will be portraying the character of Hermione Granger in the 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' on stage.

Noma Domezweni has bagged the role in the spin-off play and the 25-year-old actress, who played Hermione in the movies, claimed that she can't wait to see Domezweni take to the stage, reports News24.com.

The 'Noah' star took to her Twitter handle and wrote, "Can't wait to see Noma Dumezweni as Hermione on stage this year. #harrypotterandthecursedchild #2016."

Watson's tweet comes after the 'Harry Potter' author J.K. Rowling defended the casting of a black actress in the role.

The author insisted that she never specified the ethnicity of the popular witch while writing her series of books, so she cannot understand why some people are outraged that Dumezweni will take on the role.

The two-part play is due to make its debut at the Palace Theatre in London in summer 2016.
