Encounter underway in Srinagar's Karan Nagar

An encounter is underway at the 23 Bn CRPF camp in Srinagar's Karan Nagar, where two armed-terrorists were stopped in the wee hours of Monday.

At around 4.30 am, the guard at the headquarters of the CRPF's 23 battalion headquarters saw two militants approaching the camp with AK-47 rifles and opened fire at them.

The terrorists then fled from the spot.

As of now, the building has been cordoned off.

Earlier on Saturday, terrorists stormed the Sunjwan army camp in Jammu, killing five security personnel and one civilian. Six army personnel and six civilians are injured.

Four terrorists have been gunned down.
