England has leveled the Twenty20 international series against Australia with a 27-run win in the second T20 at Chester-le-Street on Saturday, which was boosted by a impressive 94 by batsman Alex Hales.
According to the Mirror, the Nottinghamshire batsman fell six runs short of becoming first to score a century for England in this version of the game.
Expressing disappointment over his inability to make a ton, Hales, who slammed a delivery from James Faulkner in the penultimate over to Australian opener David Warner at long-on, however, said that it was a very good day.
Meanwhile, the report said that England bowler Stuart Broad, whose return for this T20 game was his last for this season, said that it has been a very 'feisty' summer and has provided tough cricket, as both sides are desperate to win.
Broad bowled England to a 3-0 Test-series win on this very ground earlier this month, the report added.
