England player Tim Bresnan is still having questions regarding his fitness with a stress fracture of his back as the board gets set to announce the squad for the Ashes series in Australia.
According to Sport24, twice an Ashes-winner, Bresnan when fit fills the tricky position of third seamer in a four-man attack and the Yorkshireman played a key role during England's 2010/11 3-1 series win in Australia.
However, England has options in former Ireland international Boyd Rankin, Chris Tremlett and Steven Finn.
England limited overs coach and Test selector Ashley Giles praised Rankin and said that he bowled at a good rate of knots with a great advantage of height.
He also said that all-rounder Ben Stokes could play an important role in the side.
