English boxing star Carl Froch has gained the revenge he desperately craved when he beat Danish champion Mikkel Kessler in an epic match in London.
International Boxing Federation (IBF) champion Froch, added Kessler's World Boxing Association (WBA) title to his collection after winning on points, thereby avenging the loss to Kessler in April 2010, which was the first defeat of his career, The Sun reports.
According to the report, the two warriors maintained the turbo-charged pace for 12 gruelling rounds was a real tribute to work they had put in to take their stamina to new heights.
Expressing his pleasure at the win, the Nottingham hero said that the only thing that felt bad was that he had to beat such a gentleman, meaning Kessler.
Froch further said that his next job will be to avenge his second and only other defeat to American boxer Andre Ward.
