Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi has recommended filing of a charge sheet against Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leaders Dayanidhi Maran and Kalanithi Maran in the Aircel-Maxis case.

Sources say that the Attorney General has given reportedly given a go-ahead to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in filing of charge sheet.

According to sources, the Attorney General has also told the CBI that there is enough evidence to prosecute the former telecom minister and his brother.

Maran is alleged to have misused his office to force Aircel owner Sivasankaran to sell his entire stake in the company to a Malaysian businessman T Ananda Krishnan. Maran later entered into a quid-pro arrangement with the company.
