Entrepreneurial talent through Dream Start-Up Challenge 2015 in Bhopal

The Dream Start-Up Challenge 2015 has been announced by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and the Bhopal Chapter of Young Indians (YI) in association with AISECT to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in Central India.

The contribution of Indian entrepreneurs is already being applauded worldwide but it is just a glimpse of the actual potential of Indian youth. Dream Start-Up Challenge 2015 will provide an opportunity for the various entrepreneurs from smaller cities to match the immense exposure and eco system that is available to someone in major cities.

Dream Start-Up is an endeavor to not only showcase such entrepreneurial success stories in cities like Bhopal but it also aims to guide entrepreneurs through the process of formulating a sustainable business model and to reach out to appropriate audience.

 

The challenge comprises of two components. The Business Plan Competition is meant for ideation and early stage startups. Eligible ventures will get mentorship for 2 months before they present their B plans to a panel of investors, industrialists & academicians to win attractive prizes. Whereas Start up Expo is open to all operating startups where they can showcase their ventures in an expo style format to investors, industrialists & academicians.

Participants selected for Dream Start-Up Challenge 2015 will be mentored by progressive Indian entrepreneurs, professionals and achievers from different walks of life for a period of eight weeks.

The patron will be Mr. Santosh Kumar Choubey, one of the foremost social and education entrepreneurs of India and the CMD of AISECT as well as the Chancellor of Dr. C.V. Raman University and AISECT University.

Rahul Mirchandani (ED, Aries Agro Limited) will be the Guest Mentor. Mr. Hitesh Ahuja (Founder, Prudent Solutions), Mr. Siddharth Chaturvedi (Director, AISECT), Mr. Anurag Shrivastava (Co-Founder & CEO, Netlink), Mr. Kamal Khanna (India Head-Private Equity Investments, DE Shaw & Co.) and Mr. Jaisooraj Nambiar (Director, Asnani Group) are among the noted resident mentors of the Challenge.

Eligibility criteria for the aspirants of the Dream Start-Up Challenge 2015 entails Indian residents whose venture is not registered earlier than 1st June 2010, ventures having annual turnover not more than Rs 2 crore in any financial year since its inception and students/ ideation stage startups with good workable ideas with an intention to start the venture in near future.

These eligibility criteria have been thoughtfully implemented to promote and provide opportunity and recognition to early and beta stage startups. However, operating stage startups regardless of age or financial position are also encouraged to register for the Startup Expo being organized on 21st and 22nd November 2015 and showcase their business venture through this platform to a host of VCs, Government Officials, industry leaders and to the world at large.
