England Twenty20 captain Eoin Morgan has said that he believes their new assistant coach Paul Farbrace's knowledge of Sri Lanka could be key to England's chances in the series between the two countries, which begins on May 20.

Farbrace, a former Kent wicketkeeper and a former coach of Kent and England women's team, led Sri Lanka to the World Twenty20 title in April before becoming number two to England's Peter Moores.

According to the BBC, said Morgan, who will lead England in a T20 international at The Oval on Tuesday, said that Farbrace has a high knowledge of Sri Lanka and cricket in general as he has a great cricket brain, and indicated that that knowledge has been key in their preparations.

The report mentioned that Farbrace took charge of Sri Lanka in January, leading them to the Asia Cup and then the World T20 in Bangladesh, their first major trophy since the 1996 World Cup after a run of four successive final defeats.

Stating that Farbrace 'absolutely loves and cherishes' the game, Morgan, who is standing in for injured T20 skipper Stuart Broad, also said that a in would go a long way in restoring their failing fortunes after a dismal winter and start of their new season properly.

Morgan also said that there is a big opportunity in the game for players, both batsmen and bowlers, as well as collectively as a unit.

The T20 is followed by five ODIs at The Oval, Chester-le-Street, Old Trafford, Lord's and Edgbaston from 22 May- 3 June and then two Tests at Lord's and Headingley from 12-24 June, the report added.
