The makers of detective thriller 'The Dry' have roped in actor Eric Bana to play the lead role in the Australian feature adaptation.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 'Dirty John' star will portray the role of Detective Aaron Falk, who uncovers deeper prejudices in the terrified town after the demise of his childhood friend, Luke.
Based on Jane Harper's bestselling novel, 'The Dry', the movie will tell the story of Falk who returns to his home after twenty years to attend the funeral of his childhood friend, Luke, who allegedly killed his wife and child before taking his own life. The family will be seen as the victim of madness that ravaged the whole community after more than a decade of drought.
Penned by Harry Cripps, the flick will be directed by Robert Connolly.
The movie will go on floors in early 2019 in Victoria, Australia, with a release slated for January 2020.
