Doubles stalwart and ATP Player Council member Eric Butorac has said that top tennis players have completely cut alcohol out of their diet and the rest of the players have mostly followed suit to stay competitive.

According to CNN, Butorac expressed that it was funny because ATP's tour sponsor was Corona and Coronas were available wherever they wanted, in the locker room and in the player's lounge, adding that it was surprising that at the end of the week they are often not even touched.

Butorac has been on the circuit for nearly a decade and rubs shoulders with the likes of Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic both on and off the court, the report said.

Butorac believes the established 'Big Four' of Rafael Nadal, Djokovic, Andy Murray and Federer have permanently raised the bar as regards fitness and diet issues and there is no going back, the report added.

He also said that the fun on the tour had dropped as there was very little alcohol consumed because players took their matches and practice very seriously, the report further said.
