Chris Silverhood is reportedly all set to leave county champions Essex and take up the role of England's new bowling coach on full-time basis at the end of the Ashes series in Australia.

The 42-year-old, who recently guided Essex to the 2017 County Championship title, will succeed Ottis Gibson who left the position to become South Africa head coach.

It should be noted that Silvewood would not start his stint until the New Year i.e only after the five-match Ashes series Down Under.

Silverwood, however, will travel to Australia as a partof the England Lions coaching set-up later this month, Sport24 reported.

Meanwhile, former New Zealand speedster Shane Bond has been roped in as a bowling consultant with England on a temporary basis for the first two Ashes Tests.

Silverwood has appeared in six Tests and seven ODIs for England between 1996 and 2002 besides serving a player-coach stint with Zimbabwe domestic side Mashonaland Eagles in 2009.
