European golf legend Colin Montgomerie believes that the game is on course to witness the dominance of world number one Rory McIlroy and second-youngest Masters winner Jordan Spieth in the forthcoming Majors championships.

While Irish golf star McIlroy has four majors as of now, American golfer Spieth became the second youngest Masters winners behind Tiger Woods, after his terrific run at Augusta Masters.

Reflecting on a potential rivalry between the two stars, Montgomerie said that he does think it could be a proper rivalry, like Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer, when they were swapping Majors back and forth, the Mirror reported.

Spieth, the new world number two, fired a two-under 70 to triumph on 18 under, and also became the first player in 39 years to lead a Masters from start to finish.
