England's Barmy Army reportedly lost to indigenous Northern Territory XI in a Twenty20 match in Alice Springs.
Carmella Gray, named 'woman of the match', is a newcomer to cricket in the past couple of years, having only ever played with the boys in a C Grade Alice Springs match, she took a wicket and two spectacular catches to get the gong in a 25-run victory for the local team.
Gray said that she was a bit nerve-racking at first, but she did all right and said the guys were great and supportive, especially when she took her wickets, news.com.au reports.
She further said that she didn't want to disappoint the blokes, but she jumped on Marcus Rosas when she took one of her catches and it was exciting and a lot of fun to beat them.
Gray said that it was good to have played her part in keeping the entire England touring party on the back foot, and keep the Poms quiet, the report added.
