Everton crashed out of the Europa League following their 2-5 humbling by Dynamo Kiev in their last-16 second-leg tie in Ukraine, thus ending England's last remaining team's hopes of advancing to the quarterfinal round.

Squandering a 2-1 first-leg lead, Everton were exposed of their defending frailties as they were outmuscled 6-4 on aggregate on Thursday night. Andriy Yarmolenko put Dynamo ahead in the 21st minute but Romelu Lukaku's stunning strike leveled the score line for Everton eight minutes later.

Subsequently, Dynamos went on to score four goals, which came off Lukasz Teodorczyk, Miguel Veloso, Oleg Gusev and Antunes before Phil Jagielka's headed consolation, the BBC reported.

The week also saw the top Premier League sides Manchester City and Arsenal eliminating from the Champions League as well.
