Trailing behind in the Municipal Corporation polls the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday again cried foul over EVM tampering and dejected the idea of Modi wave.

Asserting that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is winning because of the rigged EVMs, Delhi Minister Gopal Rai said that the saffron swipe in the civic polls is nothing less than miracle which took place because the tampering of electoral machines.

"The BJP has been governing the MCD from past ten years and all know that they have done nothing and still the way the BJP is winning is nothing less than a miracle. This miracle is not an outcome of Modi wave but is the result of EVM wave," Rai told the media here.

"This has put democracy in danger. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will evaluate the situation after final results are declared and then chalk a strategy," he added.

Echoing similar opinion, another AAP leader Ashutosh said that it is not possible for the BJP to win after brewing corruption in the corporations for ten years and that the victory is a result of manipulated EVMs.

"There are serious doubts about the EVMs. The way EVMs have been manipulated and the kind of evidences have been unearthed. It clearly shows that the democracy is in danger. And sooner and later we have to realise the fact the BJP has ruined MCD and still the BJP wants to tell the world that it is winning. There is no reason for this," said Ashutosh.

The early trend of the counting for MCD, which began earlier today, shows the BJP in the lead, followed by the ruling AAP at second place and the Congress at third.

The initial figures show that the BJP is leading in 109 wards, the AAP in 28 and the Congress in 22 .

The fierce triangular competition has put reputation of the three major parties on stake.

Where the BJP will be fighting against anti-incumbency, the Congress will be jostling for a comeback and for AAP, it will save its image post Goa and Punjab poll debacle.

Pollsters have predicted a big win for the BJP, while the AAP and the Congress have been shown competing for a distant second spot.
