ACSG Corp. has joined hands with former Delhi police commissioner B.K. Gupta as part of an effort to further deepen its roots in the Indian homeland security market.

Gupta will join the company as senior strategic advisor, guiding and recommending products, solutions and services the company should launch in India. He will also help develop strategy to expand homeland security business globally, besides helping implement risk mitigation measures.

Gupta served as Delhi's Police Commissioner between 2010 and 2012. His credentials as a law enforcement officer and his understanding of the internal security sector is expected to add significant value to the company. His well-known stand against all kinds of crime is likely to help him align well with the company's objective.

"The idea behind this association is to tap Gupta's expertise and experience and use it to provide best possible services to our various homeland security agencies," said ACSG Corp President Pankaj Kumar while elaborating on the new horizons the company is targeting.

When contacted about what prompted him to take up the position, Gupta pointed out, "The initiatives taken up by the private sector in homeland security is admirable. The government needs to acknowledge their enterprise and provide support, which they do... As for me, I have experienced and tackled critical security issues in the capital and believe that there is a lot I can contribute towards a more secure society."

ACSG serves critical security sectors of the government and other related sectors such as aviation, oil and gas and space.

The company designs homeland security products, software solutions and services keeping in mind the operational requirements of the law enforcement agencies, such as paramilitary forces, investigative and respective agencies, police forces, coastal guards, all falling under the aegis of the Government of India.

The Delhi-based company also provides software solutions like Online Verification System, Automatic Transfer System, Online Lost and Found Applications, Missing Article Report System, Criminal Record Management System, Women Safety Application, Tactical Training Simulators, GIS Mapping, Face Recognition Software, Audio and Video Analytics, E Challan System, Jail Management Software and their customized training to law enforcement bodies.

ACSG has entered into a new space of UAVs drones and India is an emerging market for UAV drones, which will be a requirement of all defence forces. UAVs' are required to patrol in sensitive areas and provide real-time surveillance data which can be used for coastline, defence and by PSUs'. The UAVs are multirotor/multicopter, micro aerial vehicles, mini aerial vehicles and aerostat.

Expected to double to USD 16 billion by 2018, homeland security is one of the most aggressively pursued sectors, with both government and private players investing heavily to provide the finest and updated technology and services to India's security agencies. By 2020, about six per cent of global procurement in the field of homeland security is expected to emanate from India. The potential is immense. The government and private industry need to join forces and create a greater synergy in order to upgrade and modernise security systems and communication networks.
