Former Leicester City midfielder turned football pundit Robbie Salvage has claimed that he counts his blessings that he has got a second career he loves.
Savage, who started his career as youth player with Manchester United, has claimed that finding a new job after hanging up his boots was harder than playing. He quit in 2011 and has carved out a successful career as a telly and radio broadcaster, appearing on Match Of The Day.
However, it is a far cry from his life as a pampered Premier League footballer, when he did not even have to book a restaurant for himself, the Daily Star reported.
Savage said that he counts his blessings that he has got a second career he loves, but added that he works hard at it. He claimed that in the real world it's tough, adding that he doesn't consider football to be the real world.
The Welshman said that when one is a player everything gets done for them, so every stress is removed, adding that one doesn't even have to book a restaurant.
Savage added that then suddenly, when one retires, all that's gone.
